Pawley’s Island Plantation Wedding

You couldn’t ask for a more perfect day. The weather was amazing. You can have winter weddings in South Carolina and still have gorgeous weather! I knew Nicole from work and she mentioned they were planning for an international wedding but the plans had changed due to Covid. Fortunately, they were still able to have their wedding around the same time as originally planned, but locally so more family and friends could attend!

The day starts out with capturing the bridesmaids and groomsmen getting ready and getting some really unique and creative detail shots. The groomsmen were playing poker so I thought it would be a really really cool shot to get Parker flicking the cards up in the air and freeze it in action! We nailed it. Then, of course, Nicole’s mom was helping her get ready and it was a beautiful moment capturing them two together before the ceremony.

As Nicole starts walking out during the ceremony, I noticed Parker covering his face because he was tearing up and quickly snapped that shot. That is a very powerful image, and it’s exactly what Nicole wanted to see. The ceremony was beautiful and the officiant was their really close friend, Brandon, who I didn’t realize til later, but he’s an acquaintance I met previously through some work!

The portraits were phenomenal, walking out and having that beautiful golf course backdrop was simply stunning. Some of my favorite bride and groom portraits ever! Nicole also had a very long veil, so we were able to get really creative on some of those portraits shooting through the veil. The video crew, Eyecon Entertainment, was just incredible. They had so much energy and creativity. One of the photos taken below shows one of the video crew running down the hill recording Nicole and Parker in a golf cart! I just thought to myself, someone is going to trip and fall LOL!

They had a very short cocktail hour with the dances and reception following immediately after. Megan Dodson is an incredible and very talented artist. She took over the music so beautifully with her gorgeous harp and just filled the room with these soft renditions of popular songs! The officiant, Brandon, actually chimed in with some vocals and stunned everyone that was his voice!!

Soon after the reception and toasts, we wanted to capture some really neat night time shots. I had a couple flashes set up and the video crew had their lights going as well. We mastered some amazing off camera flash portraits that blew me away, nailed some authentic and funny champagne bottle pops, and watched them exit the wedding in and grand style of sparklers and lots of emotion.
