The coronavirus has obviously changed our lives...everyone’s lives. We are social distancing and trying to avoid people. This has caused many couples to postpone their weddings. So what do you do now and how do you plan for your wedding with this monster in the midst?

  1. No matter what...keep planning!

Since so many couples have been affected by Covid-19, they are planning their weddings for 2021/2022 and so, therefore, popular dates are filling up quickly! If you’re in the beginning phases of researching, contact your local venues and ask for a virtual tour. Many venues will now have virtual tours available because of COVID. Before booking with the venue, make sure they are flexible with your dates in the contract, in case something like this happens again.

Most importantly, you should feel confident in your choice, if that venue is doing everything they can to help couples affected by Covid-19.

2. Hire a Wedding Planner

Don’t just lean on your family to plan your wedding. In times like these, you need a professional wedding planner. Not only will they take the burden off you and your family, but they will also contact the venues for you and assist with contracts!

3. Buy Wedding/Event Insurance

Just in case, for a really small investment is Event Insurance. Make sure you talk to your current agents for specific rates, but it’s definitely a smart move to take during this pandemic.

4. Keep your guest list small

Of course, we want our WHOLE family and ALL of our close friends to be at the wedding. But your distant relatives will understand your wanting to keep the guest list small due to COVID and maintaining social distancing standards. Plus! You’ll be saving money by less amount of people you have to serve for dinner and the invitations.

5. Live Stream your ceremony

A bit different, but becoming the norm is live streaming. Embrace this new idea of technology because the people who can’t make it to the wedding, whatever the case may be, this live streaming method is a fantastic way for them to see your wedding and keeping their social distancing safe!
