5 Reasons to bring your dogs for your photoshoot

If you have dogs, they are basically family to you. You show pictures of their cute faces to all your friends and family members. You adore them and so of course, you would LOVE for them to be in your photos!

But it’s never an easy task to photograph a dog during a photoshoot. Their attention span is very minimal and so getting them to look at the lens takes a special person with an enormous amount of patience and/or tricks up their sleeve ;)

Here are some really cool ideas and reasons why you should bring your pup with you on your next shoot!

  1. Dress them up!

Yes it may sound funny, but they are part of your family, part of your whole shoot. So they should be dressed up or accessorized with some cute props!

  2. Bring Treats

One good method of keeping them focused at the lens is to hold a treat out above my lens and snap the shot! You can also do the similar effect with squeaky toys or whatever really catches their attention for maybe…5 minutes

  3. Do the Photoshoot in Stages

It’s usually wise to start the shoot out in your dressier clothes before you have to get dog fur all over you. Have someone watch the dogs prior to this and do the second part of the shoot in casual clothes while hanging out with your pups.

  4. Bring a friend or family member

As mentioned before, having a friend or family member helping out is HUGE. Have them take the dogs out for a walk during the first part of the shoot or have them bring them to you at a certain time. This process works magically.

  5. Choose a familiar location

This is ideal for dogs who don’t like new locations. Choose a place they have been to before like their favorite park, to avoid any chaos and confusion among the pups.
